What is Exchange Games?

Exchange Gaming gives the player the ability to place bets on the outcome of a computer generated event - e.g. a poker game. It is as if you are standing behind a crowded table in Las Vegas, stealing peeks at the players' cards and making side bets as to which player you think will win or lose.

You are not actually playing the card game, but are betting on the outcome of other people playing the market.

The blue side is the back side, and the red side is the lay side.

If you back a player you think the player will WIN the game.
If you lay the player you think the player will LOSE the game.

When laying a bet, you can only win the other person's stake. That means high risk and low reward in most cases.

Example:

Let’s say you back Player 1 for 10 quid at the odds of 2.06. If Player 1 wins, you win 10.60 less commission ((2.06 * 10) – 10 (your stake) = 10.60; Note – Betfair charge a commission fee on net winnings on each market). But if Player 1 loses, you lose your stake of 10 quid.

Now let’s say you lay Player 1 for 10 quid at the odds of 2.1. If Player 1 loses, you win your stake of 10 quid less commission. But if Player 1 wins, you lose 11 quid ((2.1 * 10) – 10 (your stake) = 11).

Especially at high odds laying can be very dangerous.
